The Moorlands harness driving club was founded in 1989 as a safe, friendly and non competitive club for those in the Staffordshire area with a love of Horses and harness driving.
The club was founded by Gordon Stanyer and Mick Murphy. The first meeting was held at the Bird in hand public house in Hilderstone, Staffordshire, where Mick Murphy was elected Chairman.
The venue was later changed to the Red House in Caverswall with Arthur Floyd as chairman. The venue later changed again to the Railway inn, Froghall, close to the Churnett valley railway line and Gordon Stanyer was by this time Chairman.
Peter Emmett was elected our current chairman in 2006, following Gordon’s retirement, with Glyn Bentley as vice chairman.( Contact secretary for current venue.)
